Allowing emotions to choose your asking price can cause your home to sit on the market for a long time.

Get ready for plenty of criticism

One of the things you may not be prepared for is the amount of criticism you are going to hear about your home once you start to show it to potential buyers. Many will try to point out flaws in order to start working toward offering you a lower price than what you are asking. You may find yourself feeling hurt as you continue to hear people bashing your home. However, you want to keep in mind that they will be more than likely to point out the things they don't like and hold in the things they do like in an attempt to work out a better deal, so you want to try your best not to take these things personal.

However, you want to do your best to instead focus your attention on positive things. You are about to embark on a new journey, try to keep this in mind. Also, stay physically busy with the things you have to do in order to help you think less about the stressful parts of moving. Talk to local realtors; they are used to helping emotional sellers and may have some great advice.
