About Me

Understanding Real Estate Issues About a year ago, I began thinking about unloading my existing property and getting a new house. Unfortunately, I wasn't really sure where to start, so I turned to a friend of mine who specialized in real estate. They walked me through the entire process of selling a house and investing in a new one, and I was really impressed with how much of a difference they made in my process. I began working hard to get things taken care of, and within a few months I was able to completely transform my finances with the sale of my home.

3 Tips For Selling Your Home

When you put your home on the market, you obviously want it to sell. While hiring a real estate agent, getting your home out there, pricing your home appropriately, being available for shows, etc. can go a long way in getting your home sold, there are also a lot of other great things that you can do as well. Here are three tips for when it comes time to sell your home.

Offer To Pay Closing Costs

One great way to sell your home is to offer to pay the closing costs. On top of the purchase price of the home, closing costs are generally a few thousand dollars. While this will likely just be deducted from the profit that you make off of your home, it will be a few thousand more dollars that the person purchasing the home has to come up with.  This could deter them from purchasing your home when they would've otherwise purchased it. You don't need to say up front that you will pay closing costs, but you could either accept an offer where you pay closing costs or counter with an offer where you pay them. In both cases, your home is much more likely to sell because the buyer doesn't have to worry about this added cost.

Show Off Your Storage Space

Storage space is something that is generally very important to most homebuyers. They want locations to not only store things like clothes and lines, but also all of their seasonal items and other large and small storage items. You can show off all of your storage by emptying out some of your closets and other storage areas to show just how big they are. You may even want to look up the dimensions of your closets and storage rooms so that you can tell them exactly how big they are. This could be just the thing that you need to sell your home.

Take Care Of Pests

If someone sees that you have problems with any kinds of pests, such as spiders, earwigs, roaches, centipedes, ants, termites, bats, or rats. Rather than running the risk of potential homebuyers seeing these pests and losing the sell, having a professional come out and inspect and then spray your home for all of the pests that you are dealing with.

By offering to pay the closing costs on your home, showing off all of your storage space, and taking care of any pests issues that you may have, you can increase the likelihood of selling your home.
