Every real estate agent wants to develop a strong relationship with his or her clients. It's important to remember that even when you close a deal to buy or sell a single-family home, you want your clients to continue to view you in a positive light—after all, they can refer their family members and friends to you and enlist your services during future real estate transactions. One way to continue to show yourself in a positive manner is to surprise your clients after their deal is completed. You can do so in a variety of ways, but here are three suggestions.

Offer Them A Moving Truck

Many real estate agents create relationships with local truck-rental companies so that they can offer a moving truck to their clients in advance of moving day. Doing so will not only be a pleasant surprise for your clients, but it will also help to save them the cost and hassle of renting the vehicle themselves. While many agents advertise that they'll provide a rental truck free of charge, you don't need to do so. Instead, it can be rewarding to call your clients after the deal is finished and tell them that you'll have a moving truck waiting for them on the morning of their moving day.

Show Up To Help

If you really want to leave a positive impression on your real estate clients, find out when they'll be moving—and then show up to help. Granted, you probably don't have time to put in a full day of moving for all of your clients, especially if you're busy as an agent. However, showing up ready to work and offering an hour or two of your time, for example, can truly impress your clients. On moving day, an extra set of hands will always come in handy, and whether you're lugging boxes or helping with some last-minute packing, you'll be of service.

Drop Off A Care Package

Real estate agents will sometimes give their clients a gift at closing, such as a bottle of wine. However, a fun way to surprise them is to drop off a care package on moving day. Some bottles of water, a few boxes of easy-to-eat snacks (such as granola bars), and a gift card to a local sub shop or pizza restaurant can help to keep the family and its helpers well fed on moving day. The cost to you is minimal, especially when you compare it to the commission check that you'll be getting, and is a nice surprise for your clients.
